Peniche surf

It’s that time of the year again,

time to travel!

Peniche is home to the world-renowned Supertubos, the beach that hosts the most prestigious competitions in all-waves related sports. You can surf, kite, bodyboard and windsurf here, or watch the pros participating in spectacular events. From here you can also visit The Berlengas archipelago, it’s an exciting boat trip to a group of small islands once visited by Romans, Vikings, Muslims and pirates from England and France. The coastline of Peniche is magnificent with its rocks and cliffs and endless Atlantic Ocean.

Follow the relaxed, happy people, nice weather and perfect surfing conditions!

In a “nutshell”, Peniche is the Portuguese (and European for that matter) surf capital.

A peninsula where you can surf pretty much every single day of the year due to the privileged geography of the region, making for consistent conditions to learn or improve your surfing. The thing is… it’s so much more than just surfing! Great food, nightlife, history, scuba diving, people, golf courses, even the exotic island of Berlenga (beautiful protected nature reserve where you can stay overnight is just a short ferryboat ride away! All of it at reasonable prices for a developed country, known for its great weather, fish and relaxed people.

So unless you’re against having a good time, this is a place you should seriously consider… or not, cause we are relaxed like that.

Perfect beaches & surf spot

In addition to all of its natural beauty, Peniche has the great advantage of concentrating so many good surfspots in such a short distance, making your daily search for the best surfspot much easier than anywhere else is Portugal or Europe. Less energy and time (and money of course) spent looking for waves, more time surfing them! You will find waves of all degrees of difficulty, which translates into a “flavor for everyone”. Definitely a year round surfing destination, be it challenging Supertubos, or more mellow Cantinho da Baía, Almagreira, Lagido etc… you name it, it’s a given that you’ll find a suitable wave for your surfing to keep progressing.
